Textile art piece by Linda Kooper Wallace.  Hand painted with textile paints on white cotton, free motion quilted, and framed in a recycled frames.  The metallic paints give this piece a glow, and the sheen changes as you view it from different angles.    The piece measures 8″ x 10″ and is available in our shop.

Uploaded to the shop today  is this textile art piece.  The dimensions of the piece are approximately 8″ x 10″.  It is in a recycled frame and the piece is signed and dated on the back.

I found this great site for free vintage sewing patterns: CostumingDiary.com.

It has a list of free historical costume patterns including medieval, Elizabethan and Victorian patterns.  Some of these look like a lot of fun!

What’s hot this season? Faux fur pillows!

A quick Google search for faux fur pillows is bound to stimulate your imagination!  They are so popular, and can lend anything from an elegant touch to a fun and kitschy feel to your home.

This photo from Rachel’s Look Book is a great example of how they can really go with any decor.  In the article, she mentions that she will probably switch them out as the weather warms up.  What a great way to freshen up your decor to go with the seasons!

Whitney J Decor gives us this example of how they can be used to an elegant effect as well.


Even the real estate site Zillow gets into the act, with this amazing Bohemian bedroom.  Wouldn’t you love to dive into this bed?

So we have seen that fake fur can be elegant, or luxurious, but they can also really add a sense of playfulness and fun to your home!

Pottery Barn teen offers this great selection of colorful pillows.

The Decorista does fantastic things with purple!  A surprising color, but how beautiful it turned out!

If you are feeling inspired, why not create your own faux fur pillows?  They are super easy to do, very quick, and turn out so amazing.  If you have not worked with fake fur before, fleecefun.com has some great tips for you here.  They also have sample patterns, so no excuses, pull out that sewing machine!
